The visit to Villa Contarini and the entire Vo’ Vecchio site highlights its importance from a historical, architectural, and environmental–landscape perspective. For centuries, Vo’ was a strategic hub for supplying Venice not only with food. Between 1943 and 1944, it was used as a concentration camp. Today, it houses a small Holocaust Museum.
