The Giornate delle Ville Venete are not just an experience to be had inside the villas, but also an opportunity for listening and discovery. Thanks to interviews with owners conducted during the first Giornate delle Ville Venete in Tour, a documentary film titled “Il tempo delle Ville Venete: real life stories” was produced. This work, which tells real stories and lives, was presented at the Venice Film Festival in 2024.
This year, the second installment of the documentary series, titled “Il tempo delle Ville Venete: Humus e Humanitas,” will be presented. The screening will be held on September 4th at 3:30 PM, also at the Venice Film Festival, with special guests.
The title of the documentary film, “Il tempo delle Ville Venete: real life stories,” captures the essence of what we want to share. Not just history, but stories. Not just art, but the real lives of Venetian Villa owners, who tell us in a few words what a Venetian Villa is today.
The documentary was screened at the 81st Venice Film Festival in the Veneto Region / Veneto Film Commission space—Hotel Excelsior on Sunday, September 1, 2024. We discussed the topic with the Director of the Film Commission, Jacopo Chessa; the President of the IRVV, Amerigo Restucci; and the President of the Association for Venetian Villas, Isabella Collalto de Croÿ.
